LEED GA exam

What is LEED?

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a rating system, which was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), for buildings. Buildings accumulate points for things such as saving energy, having accessible mass transit, and mitigating storm water runoff. It addresses the entire lifecycle of a building by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health. Once the points are tallied, the building earns a LEED rating. The higher the tally, the more sustainable a building is. LEED is internationall racognized, and provides third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at increasing performance, reducing waste, and improving quality of life. Since its start in 1998, LEED has grown to encompass more than 20,000 projects in 50 U.S. states and 30 countries.

LEED is transforming the way built environments are designed, constructed, and operated. Participation is voluntary and demonstrates leadership, innovation, environmental stewardship and social responsibility. LEED provides building owners and operators the tools they need to immediately impact their building’s performance and bottom line, while providing healthy indoor spaces for a building’s occupants.

Want to get your LEED Credentials?

In order to get your credentials you must take an exam! We are lucky enough to be having a LEED exam prep class! This is a great opportunity!! The first class would be March 5th at 8:00 in Turner 172. This first class is for people interested and to inform everyone on what will be going on in the class! This is truly a great opportunity because there are not always prep classes for this exam! I will post the information flyer below!
